Purpose of Role: Support teachers by overseeing learning activities. A focus on Physical and Sensory Interventions would be desirable. Responsibilities include planning, delivering, and monitoring student progress, ensuring inclusion and collaboration with parents.

Key Accountabilities:

Support for Students:

• Assess student needs and contribute to target setting.
• Establish productive relationships and promote inclusion.
• Encourage cooperation and independence while providing feedback on progress.
• Support individual student needs, including cultural and dietary requirements.

Support for the Teacher:

• Organize learning environments and provide feedback on student achievement.
• Record progress systematically and adjust plans as needed.
• Assist in maintaining discipline and producing lesson materials.

Support for the Curriculum:

• Develop, deliver, and evaluate curriculum to meet personalized student outcomes.
• Deliver learning activities in various settings and use ICT effectively.
• Advise on resource deployment and prepare materials considering student backgrounds.

Support for the School:

• Comply with policies relating to child protection, safety, and confidentiality.
• Promote equality and contribute to the school’s ethos and aims.
• Communicate with external agencies and participate in training activities.

Supervision and Guidance:

• Seek guidance from appropriate sources and use initiative in decision-making.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibility for Assets:

• Maintain confidentiality of information and care for equipment.
• Ensure proper use and storage of materials used with students.

• Essential attributes include HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
